People’s Bank Showcases Digital Banking Innovations at INFOTEL 2023

People’s Bank, a pioneer in digital banking, recently showcased its cutting-edge digital initiatives at the ‘INFOTEL 2023 Information Technology Exhibition.’ The exhibition, organized by the Federation of Information Technology Industry Sri Lanka (FITIS) and themed ‘Fuelling the Digital Economy,’ aligns with the government’s initiative to modernize Sri Lanka through digitization.

During the exhibition held at the BMICH from November 3rd to 5th, 2023, People’s Bank set up a stall to demonstrate its pioneering achievements in digital banking. Visitors were invited to explore the stall and experience firsthand the bank’s revolutionary digital offerings, including the popular People’s Pay Wallet App.

This exclusive app provides users with a seamless and convenient digitalized banking experience, enabling digital payments and banking on the go. The event provided a platform for the bank to engage with the public and showcase its commitment to advancing Sri Lanka’s digital economy.

INFOTEL 2023, focusing on key areas of the digital economy, supports the Sri Lankan Government’s effort to fuel the nation’s economy through intelligent and modern technology. The exhibition covered diverse fields such as digital government, smart education, smart health solutions, cyber security, agritech, artificial intelligence (AI), smart cities, and green energy. Visitors had the opportunity to experience emerging technologies and witness how they are integrated into various solutions.

Established under the People’s Bank Act No 29 of 1961, People’s Bank is the country’s second-largest financial services provider with over LKR 3.0 trillion in consolidated assets. At present, the Bank has 747 branches and service centres located islandwide and over 14.7 million customers. People’s Bank has 290 SBUs comprised of ATMs, CDMs, and CRM, allowing customers to bank at their convenience 24/7, 365 days a year.
